Dr. Ellen Winner will talk about psychologists' discoveries about how we evaluate works of art, as discussed in her book How Art Works: A Psychological Exploration, as well as the tumultuous history of art education in the US, the subject of her forthcoming book: An Uneasy Guest in the Schoolhouse: Art Education from Colonial Times to a Promising Future.
