What is jazz? Where did it come from? Who are its heroes? In this unique interactive workshop created by the Boston group Wee The People, kids will swing, scat, and storytime with jazz musician Myrish Spell! They will play along with kazoos, provided by Wellesley Free Library.

Kids will listen to a terrific read-aloud of the book Little Melba and Her Big Trombone written by Katheryn Russell-Brown and then get to see Myrish Spell show off the parts of her own trombone!

Get ready to improvise, syncopate, and celebrate the genius and soul of Black folk who birthed America's music -- a sound of individual freedom and radical disruption.

Registration with email required below for Zoom Link. Best for ages 6+

Starting Wednesday, June 21, all registrants may pick up a kazoo from the Temporary Main Branch at 50 Central St and the Fells Branch at 308 Weston Rd. (Questions? Email qknapp@minlib.net)

Registration has closed.
