Following years of planning and development, in June 2023, The Strong opened a 90,000 SF expansion that takes the museum experience to a new level. This talk will share some of the creative thinking and innovative design that shaped the resulting building, exhibits, and experiences that will delight millions of visitors in the years ahead. Come get a glimpse inside the processes and explore the results that fill the only museum of its kind in the world.

The Strong houses the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of historical materials related to play and it explores the ways in which play encourages learning, creativity, and discovery, and how it illuminates cultural history.
